Listed below are the descriptions of each of the specific fields (data items) included in the tables within the database.

Advance Prices Announcement Date
Announcement date for Base skim milk price for Class I skim and butterfat prices, Class II skim milk and nonfat solids prices, advanced pricing factors, and two-week product price averages.

Advanced Butterfat Pricing Factor
Price to which applicable Class I differential is added.

Advanced Class III Skim Milk Pricing Factor
Higher of this pricing factor or Advanced Class IV skim milk pricing factor determines base skim milk price for Class I.

Advanced Class IV Skim Milk Pricing Factor
Higher of this pricing factor or Advanced Class III skim milk pricing factor determines base skim milk price for Class I.

Announced Cooperative Class I Price
Price that the major cooperative operating in the city market has announced that it is charging for milk used in Class I.

Base Skim Milk Price for Class I
Price to which applicable Class I differential is added to determine Class I skim milk price.

Butter Price
Monthly weighted average of NASS butter prices. Used to calculate butterfat and protein prices.

Butterfat Pounds
Butterfat portion in the volume of fluid milk product sold in the marketing area.

Butterfat Price
Prices for butterfat used in Class III & Class IV. In component pricing orders, producers receive this price for each pound of butterfat marketed.

Butterfat Used in Class I
Butterfat portion of producer milk receipts used in Class I.

Butterfat Used in Class II
Butterfat portion of producer milk receipts used in Class II.

Butterfat Used in Class III
Butterfat portion of producer milk receipts used in Class III.

Butterfat Used in Class IV
Butterfat portion of producer milk receipts used in Class IV.

Census
Population number as published by the Bureau of the Census, U.S. Department of Commerce, per the currect decennial census.

Census Update
Estimates of population on July 1 as published by the Bureau of the Census, U. S. Department of Commerce, on a yearly basis.

Cheese Price
Monthly weighted average of NASS block cheese prices and (barrel cheese prices plus three cents). Used to calculate protein price.

City Name
The full name of the city.

Class And Component Prices Announcement Date
Announcement date for Class II butterfat and milk prices, all Class III & IV prices, component prices, somatic cell adjustment rate, and monthly product price averages.

Class I Base Price
Sometimes referred to as the Class I mover, it equals (base skim milk price for Class I times 0.965) plus (advanced butterfat pricing factor times 3.5).

Class I Butterfat Price
For the principal pricing point of the order, price for butterfat used in Class I.

Class I Differential
Amount added to Class I pricing factors to determine Class I skim milk and butterfat prices for the county.

Class I Price
For the principal pricing point of the order, price for milk used in Class I.

Class I Price for City
Federal milk order minimum Class I price for the county in which the city is located.

Class I Receipts
Producer milk receipts used in Class I.

Class I Skim Milk Price
For the principal pricing point of the order, price for skim milk used in Class I.

Class II Butterfat Price
Price for butterfat used in Class II; price is the same for all orders.

Class II Nonfat Solids Price
Price for nonfat solids used in Class II; price is the same for all orders.

Class II Price
Price for milk used in Class II; price is the same for all orders.

Class II Receipts
Producer milk receipts used in Class II.

Class II Skim Milk Price
Price for skim milk used in Class II; price is the same for all orders.

Class III Price
Price for milk used in Class III; price is the same for all orders.

Class III Receipts
Producer milk receipts used in Class III.

Class III Skim Milk Price
Price for skim milk used in Class III; price is the same for all orders.

Class IV Price
Price for milk used in Class IV; price is the same for all orders.

Class IV Receipts
Producer milk receipts used in Class IV.

Class IV Skim Milk Price
Price for skim milk used in Class IV; price is the same for all orders.

Convenience Store Retail Price
Retail price for one outlet of the largest convenience store chain, based on sales of fluid milk products, operating in the city or metropolitan area.

County Name
The full name of the county.

Difference
Difference between the Federal milk order and the announced cooperative Class I price.

Disposition Marketing Area
The marketing area into which the fluid milk product is sold.

Disposition Order Number
Federal milk order number of the marketing area into which the fluid milk product is sold.

Dry Whey Price
Monthly weighted average of NASS dry whey prices. Used to calculate other solids price.

FIPS City Code
Universal code used as unique identifier for each city in the state.

FIPS County Code
Universal code used as unique identifier for each county in the state.

FIPS State Code
Universal code used as unique identifier for each state.

Largest Chain Store Retail Price
Retail price for one outlet of the largest food store chain, based on sales of fluid milk products, operating in the city or metropolitan area.

Marketing Area
The name of the Federal milk order marketing area.

Other Solids Price
Along with protein price, component price used to calculate Class III skim milk price. In component pricing orders, producers receive this price for each pound of other solids marketed.

Other solids portion of total producer milk receipts.

Other solids portion of producer milk receipts used in Class I.

Other Solids Used in Class II
Other solids portion of producer milk receipts used in Class II.

Price Announcement Type
Type Advanced Prices = Advanced Class I and Class II skim prices and pricing factors. Type Class and Component Prices = Class II, III, and IV and component prices.

Price Month
Month for which the calculated price is being announced. Note that this field is presented in YYYYMM format; i.e. 200001.

Principal Pricing Point County Name
County name for the principal pricing point of order.

Principal Pricing Point State Name
State name for the principal pricing point of order.

Producer Price Differential
Used in component pricing orders. Basically, the weighted average value of the effective Class I and II differentials.

Producers
Number of dairy farmers marketing milk under the order.

Product Name
Name of the fluid milk product.

Product Pounds
Volume of fluid milk product sold in the marketing area.

Protein Price
Along with other solids price, component price used to calculate Class III skim milk price. In component pricing orders, producers receive this price for each pound of protein marketed.

Protein Total
Protein portion of total producer milk receipts.

Protein Used in Class I
Protein portion of producer milk receipts used in Class I.

Protein Used in Class II
Protein portion of producer milk receipts used in Class II.

Protein Used in Class III
Protein portion of producer milk receipts used in Class III.

Protein Used in Class IV
Protein portion of producer milk receipts used in Class IV.

Second Largest Chain Store Retail Price
Retail price for one outlet of the second largest food store chain, based on sales of fluid milk products, operating in the city or metropolitan area.

Select City
Indicates cities that are used for retail prices and/or announced cooperative Class I prices. Note that some of the cities do not have retail prices and others do not have announced cooperative Class I prices.

Skim Milk Used in Class I
Skim milk portion of producer milk receipts used in Class I.

Skim Milk Used in Class II
Skim milk portion of producer milk receipts used in Class II.

Skim Milk Used in Class III
Skim milk portion of producer milk receipts used in Class III.

Skim Milk Used in Class IV
Skim milk portion of producer milk receipts used in Class IV.

Somatic Cell Adj Rate
Adjustment to producer payment in component pricing orders. Rate is per 1,000 somatic cell count difference from 350,000. Counts below 350,000 result in higher payment; counts above result in lower payment.

Somatic Cell Count
Average number of somatic cells contained in producer milk receipts.

State Abbreviation
Two character state abbreviation.

State Name
The full name of the state.

Survey Ending Date
Date on which the survey week ends.

Survey Month
Month in which the survey week ends.

Survey Year
Year in which the survey week ends.

Total Receipts
Total producer milk receipts.

Two-week Butter Price
Two week weighted average of NASS butter prices. Used to calculate advanced pricing factors.

Two-week Cheese Price
Two week weighted average of NASS block cheese prices and (barrel cheese prices plus three cents). Used to calculate advanced pricing factors.

Two-week Dry Whey Price
Two week weighted average of NASS dry whey prices. Used to calculate advanced pricing factors.

Two-week NDM Price
Two week weighted average of NASS nonfat dry milk prices. Used to calculate advanced pricing factors.

Uniform Butterfat Price
Used in skim milk/butterfat pricing orders. The weighted average value of the butterfat prices for all classes. Producers receive this price for each pound of butterfat marketed.

Uniform Price
In skim milk/butterfat pricing orders, the weighted average value of the uniform skim milk and butterfat prices in 3.5% butterfat content milk. In component pricing orders, the Class III price plus the producer price differential.

Uniform Skim Milk Price
Used in skim milk/butterfat pricing orders. The weighted average value of the skim milk prices for all classes. Producers receive this price for each hundredweight of skim milk marketed.
